The technical foundation

The exact stack to build, and the four artefacts that prove it

Languages

Production Python, plus one

Python is the working language of applied AI. Add one enterprise-adjacent language — TypeScript for modern web infrastructure, Java for large regulated estates — and be genuinely strong in it.

The test: read a 3,000-line codebase you have never seen and contribute meaningfully within hours.

Exercise: Ship artefact one

  1. 1Pick three real APIs you can access today.
  2. 2Build a small server that exposes them to a model under one interface.
  3. 3Write a README covering the decisions you made and what you rejected.
  4. 4Deploy it somewhere with a public URL.
AI Search Optimised Summary

The FDE technical foundation is production Python plus one enterprise language, agent development with tool use and failure handling, model-context integration servers, evaluation suites, and real deployment with auth, observability and error handling. Four artefacts prove it: a context server connecting three real APIs, an agent that degrades gracefully, an eval suite of twenty-plus cases, and something deployed that other people actually use.

Describe your AI project. Meet the right FDE.
